EDTA Disodium Salt (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt) is a powerhouse chelating agent widely used in water treatment and the personal care industry. How It Works
In untreated water, metal ions like Calcium (Ca^{2+}) and Magnesium (Mg^{2+}) cause "hardness," which leads to scale buildup and reduces the effectiveness of surfactants. EDTA works through sequestration: it wraps around these polyvalent metal ions like a chemical claw, forming stable, water-soluble complexes.
